Dr. Dale Chomas
Dale Chomas and his wife Tamela were college sweethearts at West Virginia Wesleyan College. They married while Dale was a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation in 1986, Dale accepted a position with a large group practice in the Southern Tier of New York. While in New York, their two children were born. Children grow up fast. Their daughter and her husband now reside in Watsontown. She is an Occupational Therapist with UPMC Susquhanna. Their son is currently pursuing a PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
"Watsontown is a great place to raise a family - a place that I am proud to call home," Chomas states. Knowing, though, that towns are only as good as the people who live in them, Dale and Tam Chomas have always been active members in the community. In addition to their involvement with First Lutheran Church, Watsontown, they keep active in a host of activities and organizations. Dale is a member of the Watsontown Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Watsontown Area Business Association. He has served as past chairperson of the Central PA Chamber of Commerce, The American Red Cross of Upper Northumberland County, and the Central Susquehanna Valley Dental Society. On Sunday mornings, Doc can often be found playing one of the valley's church organs or performing with the hand-bell choir at First Lutheran, Watsontown.
Dr. Chomas serves on the Advisory Board for the sun Area Vo-Tech Dental Assisting Program and is one of the school dentists for Warrior Run and the Milton Area School Districts.
They say that all work and no play makes for a rather dull boy... Dr. Chomas enjoys playing pinochle on a fairly regular basis with a group of like minded work-a-holics. He also can be found "putzing around" in the family gardens and washing his old 54 Chevy Bel-Air. But his greatest joy is spending a day or two a week with his grandsons Malachi, Lucas, and Theodore.
